Consumer Rights — NZ Context

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and Fair Trading Act 1986, customers purchasing services from Wowbloom in New Zealand are entitled to services that are carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time and that match any description provided.

  • Services must be supplied with due care and skill.
  • Information provided about workshops (times, content, price) must not be misleading.
  • Statutory remedies may apply for major failures (repair, replacement, refund).

Key legislation (summary)

The CGA provides remedies when services fail to meet guarantees. Wowbloom will assess requests and provide appropriate remedies in line with statutory obligations.

The Fair Trading Act prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct in trade. Product and service descriptions are reviewed for accuracy on publication.

Wowbloom handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. See Privacy Policy for details on access, correction and retention.

Refunds, Transfers & Cancellations

Our general policy is designed to be consistent with NZ consumer protections. Specific terms are provided at booking.

Privacy & Data Handling

We collect minimal personal data to manage bookings, invoices and communications. Data is retained only as needed for legal and business purposes.

Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you are unhappy with a service, please submit a formal request and we will investigate. We aim to resolve matters directly; if unresolved, you may pursue external dispute resolution including the Disputes Tribunal or the Commerce Commission where applicable.

How we handle complaints

  1. We acknowledge receipt within 5 business days.
  2. We investigate and propose a resolution within 20 business days where practical.
  3. If unresolved, we will advise on external options available under NZ law.

We will process your request in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and NZ consumer law.
